Choose trusted contacts

Identify a small number of people you trust. Agree on how and when to contact them, and avoid sending sensitive information to large groups.

Create a coded check-in

A simple agreed phrase can communicate that you are safe, need a call or require urgent help without describing the situation in a message.

Keep essential information

Store copies of important documents in a secure location. Do not keep all copies on one device, and avoid including unnecessary details about other community members.

In immediate danger

Move toward a safer public or trusted location when possible. Contact an appropriate local emergency or protection service only after considering the risk of identity exposure.
